Rich Lippy

Our Wild Med family has been forever blessed by the gifts and talents of so many. In remembrance of those who have gone before us, who gave so much of their hearts and souls to the PA Wild Med family and cause, please...

"Find Adventure!"

Katherine Houghton Bowman

Rich was an avid skier since 1960, and believed that skiing gets better when the weather gets tougher and the conditions get more challenging. He worked with Liberty Ski Patrol for 20+ years. He worked as a Facilitator at Liberty and Capital Camps Ropes & Zip Line Courses. He found a new sport in Rock & Ice Climbing for many years. He climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro for his 75th birthday, Mt. Hood for his 76th birthday, and Seneca Rocks for his 78th birthday. In the summers, he enjoys taking his friends out on his sailboat. Rich assisted with the construction of the famous Pig Roaster and much of the Zip Line and Low Ropes Courses you will be enjoying during the Wild Med Conference.

Dr. William E. Gibbons

Kat Bowman was one of the pioneers on this journey to create the PA Wilderness Medicine and Survival Skills Conference alongside her husband, Eric Bowman. She was "the kitchen staff" in the early days, feeding hundreds multiple meals, who designed and built the infamous outdoor Wild Med Kitchen, later to be staffed by WellSpan's specialty Executive Chef. Kat's warm, humble, and loving nature made all at ease when faced with the most difficult challenges. She was immeasurably loved and respected by her family and friends. Having her departure from us so suddenly and unexpectantly in February 2018 was a tragic loss and significant burden to bare for many. No doubt, her loving nature will be carried on through this special and unique conference. She wouldn't have it any other way. So, on to our next adventure, with a whole lotta' love and grace like Kat would've done.

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our dear friend and colleague Bill Gibbons. He has been a cherished part of our Wild Med family who has made a difference in the lives of so many. Words cannot express the loss that we feel. Our prayers are with his wife and children, and the rest of his family and friends. May Bill Rest In Peace.
